This site supplies Medtronic with ExtraCorporeal Life Support (ECLS) products including Oxygenators, Pumps, Arterial Cannulae, Tubing Sets, etc. for our Cardiac Surgery (CS) portfolio.

As the Senior Lean Sigma Manager at the Dexter, MI manufacturing site, you will lead, deploy, and implement Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement throughout the facility. You will initiate deployment activities within the site to ensure that improvement actions are directly linked to the strategic and tactical objectives of the operating unit, emphasizing the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing and business processes, and enabling breakthrough process changes and improvements. You will perform value assessments identifying key areas for improvement opportunities and create improvement plans that meet business goals; lead various Lean and Six Sigma projects; assess the status of processes using roadmaps to plan for the future of manufacturing, with associated milestones in line with plant maturity.

A Day in the Life

As the Sr. Lean Sigma Manager, you will partner with the site leadership team to manage short- & long-term vision and execution plans for the site overall and the Operational Excellence function; managing Operational Excellence programs and initiatives at the site for short- and long-term goal achievement, assuring culture and systems development in support of continuous improvement in cost and quality performance. You will establish and maintain a site-wide culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence including site leadership level policy deployment, tiered communications, value stream excellence, improvement excellence, and related operating mechanisms.

You will:

  • Develop, implement, and sustain process improvement initiatives utilizing Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Define, design, and implement continuous improvement programs to ensure programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across the organization.

  • Define improvement projects aligned with business strategies.

  • Analyze improvement programs and potential results.

  • Facilitate and coach improvement teams.

  • Establish and maintain performance metrics to measure program success.

  • Install process excellence supports for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certifications, and rewards.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant Lean Sigma experience supporting manufacturing or an Advanced Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant Lean Sigma experience supporting manufacturing.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Lean policy deployment and tier management

  • Solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, Lean Principles, Six Sigma, and Financial acumen.

  • Medical device manufacturing experience

  • Certified Master Black Belt

  • Ability to manage cross-functionally with direct and indirect influence

  • Ability to coach and facilitate individually and at the large-scale level

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Proven skills working with cross-functional teams and presentation skills

  • Experience with the deployment of lean manufacturing

  • Ability to directly lead and/or coordinate high-impact process improvement projects

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
