Trinity Health Lactation Consultant - IBCLC - Postpartum 3 North in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Part-Time benefited position scheduled 20 hours per week rotating shifts (days and eves - NO NIGHTS) with a weekend commitment.

This position will be primarily dedicated to the general postpartum population (3 North).

The Lactation Consultant is a licensed health professional who has obtained International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners certification (IBCLC) and is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse. The RN LC is experienced with working with women and their newborns throughout the perinatal period. The main clinical focus is assisting mothers and babies to breastfeed successfully. The RN LC functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team as a counselor, educator, and mentor to nurses, patients, and their families. Supervision and evaluations are received from the Clinical Nurse Manager for the Mother/Baby unit or designee.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

  • Education: Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Licensure: Requires current Michigan Nursing License

  • Certification: International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant IBCLC

  • Completes all mandatory in-services that apply to the role of the lactation consultant.

  • Must follow IBCLE guidelines for continuing education to maintain IBCLC certification.
