Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) is searching for a Shipper/Picker based onsite in our Andover, MA facility. Working under general supervision, the Shipper/Picker is responsible for preparing GMP, ISO and non-GMP and other packaged products for shipping under tight deadlines. The incumbent routes shipments as directed or selects routing of shipments based on knowledge of shipping procedures, hazardous material and GMP requirements, company practices, and available means of transportation and rates. They are also responsible for preparing related documentation and handling receipt of incoming goods. They are also responsible for picking stock from finished goods areas to fulfill orders to be shipped.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares packages for shipping according to shipping order specifications

  • Utilizes knowledge of chemical packaging regulations, company shipping procedures and transporter requirements to help determine transport method, documentation and packaging requirements

  • Using manual and/or computerized systems, maintains prepares and posts accurate, detailed and compliant shipment documentation to include: Labels, bill of lading, costs, export paperwork and shipment records

  • Pulls GMP, ISO and non-GMP material from finished goods warehouse as needed

  • Contacts carriers to arrange for shipment pickups as needed

  • Maintains record of goods received

  • Receives incoming goods against purchase orders or invoices as needed

  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition following prescribed safety regulations

  • Picking items from finished goods inventory to fulfil orders to be shipped

  • Performs other departmental duties and responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Minimum of one-year related experience. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to interpret pick lists, packing slips and complete shipping documents with high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Must be computer literate for purpose of accessing and utilizing computerized shipping systems

  • Ability to become certified, and/or maintain current certification(s) as may be necessary in one or more of the following: DOT (Dept. of Transportation), IATA (International Air Transportation Association), IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods), ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization)

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, bend, stoop, lift and reach. Ability to lift and move 50 – 100 pounds

  • Work performed in shipping/receiving and warehouse environment. Commonly required to pull product from finished goods warehouse and cold storage rooms. In accordance with CIL safety standards will handle hazardous and non-hazardous chemical products
