NORTHWESTERN ENERGY Operations & Maintenance Supervisor in ANACONDA, Montana
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Bachelor's Degree, or, eight years of equivalent experience with five years power plant
- Budget, cost control, scheduling and reporting experience
- Familiarity with power plant design
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to be "On call" status
- Ability to work extended hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions
- Minimum of two years experience supervising or leading technical and administrative personnel
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Familiar with CMMS
- Ability to lift and manipulate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass an employment physical, drug test, and background check
- Gas turbine experience desired
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Demonstrate leadership consistent with NorthWestern Energy's code, values, policies, processes and controls
- Utilize effective management practices to maintain employee engagement and productivity
- Effectively manage budget, ensuring proper cost controls
- Lead special projects as required utilizing effective change and project management techniques
- Oversee monitoring, inspection, and control of all power production, auxiliary and facility equipment to ensure safe, legal, continuous and efficient operation
- Ensure that plant emissions and effluents are within limits
- Take action necessary to prevent any safety violations, environmental excursions, or production loss
- Report discrepancies in operation and/or conditions in a timely manner
- Provide general directions to subordinate classifications
- Direct and train others in inspection, repair, and operation of the facility
- Assist in training of the Plant Operations and Maintenance staff
- Perform assigned tasks in the qualification program for the plant staff
- Relieve Plant Operators, when required, in times of personnel shortage
- On limited basis, perform hands-on operational maintenance repairs, where necessary, and assists others making repairs to all equipment
- Generate maintenance work order requests and purchases requisition requests
- Assist Plant Superintendent in development and monitoring of plant budget, operating plan, and development of technicians
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Superintendent
- Continually develop knowledge of the plant and power plants in general
- Provide hands-on leading-edge approaches to the facility's safety, health and training program
- Assist the Compliance Coordinator with the Environmental QA/QC program and compliance with all environmental regulatory requirements
- Prepare and submit required reports to the Plant Superintendent for the owner and/or utility
- Oversee daily upkeep of necessary plant logs and records
- Maintain plant operations manuals and assure that operating policies and procedures are kept up-to-date
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.
$81,200 - $135,200 annually, depending on experience.
