Role Objective Set the vision, build and develop the indirect and direct global sourcing team, and develop and execute the global sourcing strategy to create value and maximize efficiency. Plan, direct and coordinate supply cost reduction programs and actively participate in New Product Development and Product Portfolio processes and indirect enterprise spend. Create and continuously improve a supply base capable of providing the highest quality of uninterrupted goods and services at the lowest total system cost to create a competitive advantage. Embed enterprise objectives for sustainability, diversity, and innovation into the Global Sourcing Team success criteria. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Work with Supply Chain and senior management to develop an enterprise global sourcing strategy including global purchasing of materials, services, supplies, capital equipment, technology, acquisitions, outsourced production, and finished goods for resale. Monitor and evaluate global business conditions and supply dynamics including shifting landscapes in automation, electronics, and other technology advancements; translate trends into business impacts and provide decision-making guidance to senior leadership. Align and integrate sourcing organization approach and processes with Integrated Business Planning, Total Solutions, R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Quality, and other business processes leveraging sourcing team tools and resources. Collaborate with supply chain strategy and planning groups and other teams to develop and implement a supply assurance strategy to avoid supply disruptions and support periods of elevated product demand. Develop and grow strategic supplier partnerships, working closely with partner supplier representatives. Collaborate with legal and other support and business teams for contract development and commercial terms development with suppliers. Through close collaboration with others, anticipate emerging or shifting needs and proactively engage with suppliers and business partners as needed. Lead strategic contract negotiations for goods, services, supplies, and capital equipment to ensure quality, cost effectiveness and timely delivery. Collaborate with Total Solutions and supply chain operations to recommend, develop, implement, and manage contract manufacturing relationships. Demonstrate a commitment to customer service by closely monitoring supplier performance to ensure a timely and high quality flow of materials to meet production and shipping requirements. Design, develop and implement efficient sourcing processes and systems to support enterprise objectives. Provide leadership and direction to sourcing team to ensure highly effective performance. Ensure the global sourcing team is consistently staffed with highly effective, collaborative, service-oriented sourcing professionals. Create a talent development culture where coaching and performance feedback is the norm. Ensure high performance is recognized and celebrated.
