Trinity Health MSEPA_EMS Shift Supv_0694 in Yeadon, Pennsylvania

EMS Shift Supervisor at the direction of theDirector/Chief or designee, is responsible for the daily operations of their assigned platoon. Those daily functions include but not limited to, perform as a paramedic as part of the crew, daily schedule, oversee the platoons general up keep on all apparatus in station(s), station(s) duties, paperwork completion, functions as the operational officer in the absence of higher-ranking officer and perform related duties as assigned by the Director/Chief or designee.

Basic Qualifications

Education and Training

  • High School Diploma.

  • Graduate of a PA approved EMT Training Program

  • Graduate of a PA approved Paramedic Training Program.

Certification and Licensure

  • Emergency Medical Service Vehicle Operators Certification (EMSVO).

  • Current PA Paramedic certification. Has not had their certification suspended for any reason as outlined in the Pennsylvania EMS Act.

  • Copy of Child Abuse History Clearance from the PA Department of Human Services;

  • Pennsylvania State Police criminal background clearance;

  • FBI criminal background clearance and fingerprinting;

  • Valid driver's license in good standing.

  • Has not been convicted within the last four (4) years prior to the date of application of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • Has not been convicted within the last four (4) years prior to the date of application of reckless driving or had a license suspended due to the use of alcohol or a moving traffic violation.

  • Has not been precluded from practicing for an EMS agency at the EMS provider’s certification level in the last three (3) years.

  • Current CPR (BCLS) training.

  • Current ACLS certification

  • Current PALS certification


Excellent physical and mental health. Must possess the manual dexterity to perform job duties and render patient care. EVOC and Haz-mat awareness. Ability to effectively communicate with family, the public, receiving facilities and Medical Command Staff. Ability to motivate and direct employees. Excellent organizational, communication skills. Ability to coordinate departmental activities. Practical knowledge of management and personnel functions.


Minium of three years experience as a paramedic. Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
