As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Manufacturing Supervisor for our Paint Shop in our Seating Operations - Fairchild business located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Supervisor will implement activities in production unit(s) to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives to include supervision of exempt and nonexempt associates involved in production, assembly, subassembly or fabrication operations; by performing the following duties.
Reviews and prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, efficiency, materials supply and personnel resources; assigns associates to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements.
Informs assigned associates of production and/or material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve operational problems affecting schedules.
Participates in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures.
Develops schedules and personnel requirements for assigned areas; maintains a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods, and other manufacturing aspects. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct supervision to exempt and/or nonexempt associates and may provide general supervision to lower-level supervisors.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's guidelines, procedures and policies plus applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school; and three-to-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience running a paint shop department and familiarized with standard procedures when running a paint booth. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a highly regulated industry, especially aerospace.
Experience working in large organizations with a geographically dispersed workforce.
Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.
Desire to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead projects to make improvements to processes, procedures, etc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Leadership.
A continuous improvement mindset.
