Associate Medicare Analyst
As a member of MITRE’s Center for Transforming Health, the candidate would provide strategic support to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Department of Health and Human Services and other Federal Health Agencies as needed. This position requires specific subject matter expertise on the federal Health Insurance Marketplaces operated by the Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) within the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services; and significant general subject matter expertise in health policy (discerning and identifying implications of policy or regulatory choices, projected outcomes, sector impacts, etc.), public health, health information technology, privacy, and other health-related government initiatives.
Providing health care policy and research thought leadership to MITRE's health care FFRDC
Assisting CMS (and other federal health agencies) with policy analysis in support of federal health program implementations, specifically under CMS’ CCIIO.
Overseeing and developing technical products such as research papers, briefing papers, and recommendations to support program administration..
Working closely with CCIIO staff to provide regulatory advice in support of program design, implementation and evaluation.
Analyzing policies, processes and health care strategies to facilitate effective MITRE support to CCIIO.
8 years’ experience in the area of health policy research at the federal, state or local level, developing, designing and implementing healthcare policies and programs, and providing healthcare thought leadership
Expert in, and current working experience working with, CCIIO regulations and policies.
A terminal degree (JD, MD, PhD) or advanced degree in public policy or health sciences field
BS and 3 years related experience.
