The Residential Support Specialistposition is a direct care, entry level position. This position is designed to provide individuals with intellectual disabilities/mental health illness quality care and help educate them to be able to be successful on their own as well as in the community. Some of the duties may include; preparation of meals, administration of medication, assisting with personal hygiene, and transportation to appointments. This position is designed to educate new staff with the necessary skills to be successful in this role while learning to advance in the Human Services/ Intellectual Disabilities profession. In the event of unforeseeable emergencies, staff may be required to stay until relief arrives. Staff will be expected to relocate to another facility/program as needed to meet minimum staffing need for each site.
