Trinity Health Supervisor, Clinical Lab Services, 40 hrs, evenings, St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut
JOB SUMMARY Under the general direction of the department manager, this full-time position has primary responsibility and accountability for processing of clinical laboratory specimens for THONE outreach patients. This is a fast-paced position requiring exceptional organizational and communication skills and the ability to multi-task, delivering quality testing in a reasonable timeframe.
Education: Certified Medical Technologist ASCP or equivalent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Lab Science
Experience: 2-3 years supervisory experience. Experience as a phlebotomy and/or specimen processing supervisor preferred.

Registration: MT-ASCP or equivalent
Skills: Detailed knowledge of proper specimen collection and handling. Exhibit strong interpersonal skills. Ability to train and supervise laboratory staff. Ability to interact effectively with the Manager in the development of objectives to meet the Trinity Health of New England Regional Laboratory Services goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership or as business needs dictate.
- Must have strong working knowledge of workflows- understanding of chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank and microbiology testing
- Must be able to meet the needs of, outpatient, and outreach clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to write technical procedures as required by CAP.
Walking, standing, sitting, bending required; microscope work requires close visual effort and accuracy.
Must maintain competency in a constantly changing, highly specialized field; must be able to simultaneously organize and perform multiple tasks, exceptional communication and leadership skills. Must work under stress of time constraints and heavy work load demands requiring accuracy.
