Trinity Health Cytotechnologist 20 hours part time days in Waterbury, Connecticut

Certified Medical Technologist is responsible for performing routine and complex laboratory testing to aid in patient treatments and diagnosis of disease. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: evaluates and analyzes specimens, performs quality assurance and control methods within the laboratory setting, adheres to and promotes Saint Mary's Hospital values and performance standards.

Bachelor of Science with Medical Technology concentration and a Generalist Certification through ASCP certification required (other similar accrediting agencies such as AMT may be considered). Prior experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist preferred. Medical Technologist is assigned to one or more of the following laboratory sections of responsibility: Blood Bank, Microbiology, Bacteriology, Virology, Parasitology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, Immunology, Molecular Diagnostics, Core Lab, Hematology, Coagulation, Routine Chemistry, Urinalysis), and Special Chemistry. Must be willing and able to work with bio-hazardous/toxic materials following OSHA guidelines. Excellent human relations skills Excellent organizational skills. Excellent communication skills. Strong computer skills. Must be able to work weekends and holidays when needed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform clinical/technical tasks.
