Opportunity Overview:

This position is responsible for providing legal advice and day-to-day legal support for branch teams and internal business areas on a broad range of account related topics and matters. It involves problem solving and early conflict resolution skills to resolve matters before they escalate into complaints or litigation. It requires an ability to identify and mitigate risks and trends with an aptitude for continual learning and intellectual curiosity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing advice and counsel to the firm, branch teams, and home office associates on a broad variety of account matters, including situations involving fiduciaries and court orders

  • Identify and assess potential liability to the firm, its affiliates and its associates.

  • Effectively interface with local authorities and handle non-regulatory state or federal agency inquiries

  • Assess risk and prepare associates to testify in non-party matter

  • Ensure branch teams and home office associates adhere to regulatory and legal guidelines

  • Identify and manage outside counsel when needed

  • Identify and address risks and trends

  • SIE exam (if applicable), Series 7, 66, 9, 10, 24, and insurance licenses preferred or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
