currently looking for an Equipment Operator to join our team!
The project is in the
town of Brooksville (Harborside) on the Penobscot Bay in Hancock County, Maine
(near Bar Harbor).
Starting hourly rates
up to $30 per hour.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Abilityto help maneuver pipe, pumps, and hoses.
Maintain, clean, andorganize equipment and supplies.
Workwith and around heavy construction equipment and excavations at mining sites(al Equipment Operator are expected to be experienced, safe, and efficientoperators of heavy construction equipment).
Operate general sitevehicles and equipment, such as pickup trucks, and smaller equipment.
Performconstruction activities in a safe and proper manner.
Performdaily checks and maintenance on equipment.
Perform various duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least one (1) year ofexperience in decentralized business in construction, outdoor labor, mining andfarming industries.
OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hourtraining and current 8-hour refresher (if applicable)
Heavy equipment operator experiencedwith operating some or all of the following equipment:Dozers, excavators, front-end loaders,backhoes, off-road dump trucks, all-terrain forklifts, skid-steers, and/orrollers.
Experience with operatingdozers and excavators in soft and saturated ground conditions (ie. minetailings) a plus.
Musthave a valid driver’s license.
Musthave good working knowledge of heavy construction equipment (excavators,dozers, road trucks, etc.) and compacting and materials handling equipment (ie.loader, all-terrain forklift, roller).
Ateam player with the ability and willingness to pitch in as needed in areasoutside core responsibilities and expertise.
TYPICAL WORK DEMANDS AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds on a non-consistent basis.
Work in or aroundtrenches, heavy equipment and pipe fusion equipment.
Communicate withcolleagues, site supervisor and client’s site manager including all safetypersonnel.
Able to frequently lift orcarry containers, poly pipe, pumps, hoses, shovel garbage and loose material,work in and around leachate, or loose materials to truck; which may result intwisting, pulling, pushing and bending, depending on the material andcollection vehicle type.
Able to climb, bend orstand for an extended period of time. Work on 2:1, 3:1 slopes.
Ability to work in extremeweather conditions.
Ability to carry out day-to-day activities on a environmental
project and traveling to and from the job site (dependable vehicle) for work.
