Nexus Engineering Group Sr. Planner / Scheduler in Toledo, Ohio

Job Description:

Working under general direction, the Senior Planner / Scheduler supports engineering project execution by working with Project Management to develop a detailed plan and resource-loaded schedule for all Home Office projects, analyzing overall resource utilization and tracking progress toward project completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule the project from FEL through the Execution phase and Commissioning phase.

  • Establish and develop, maintain project logic networks, schedules and risk management data, forecasting, earned value, schedule variance analysis and schedules quality check.

  • Serve as liaison between Project Services Department and Project Management, on all planning issues related to project execution.

  • Work with the Project Management Team and Project Discipline Leads to develop project plan and obtain project status.

  • Write procedures and instructions for preparation and maintenance of project plans and schedules.

  • Identify all activities on the project and develop logic using precedence diagram method (PDM).

  • Support Project Management with reporting including risk analysis and earned value.

  • Reviewing schedule, progress and productivity of engineering services, track and monitor earned value progress.

  • Maintain resource utilization and actual costs in project schedules to support Organizational revenue forecasting process.

  • Monitors actual progress and comparison to baseline, and reports the analysis, against the schedule, to Project Manager and Functional Managers.

  • Participates in weekly Schedule Reviews to ensure that schedule reporting requirements are being met.

  • Meets with Project Discipline Leads and Project Managers to obtain project to update the project schedule.

  • Prepare reports of Earned Value and variance of the Project Plan.

Competencies/Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years? experience developing engineering project schedules

  • 5+ years? experience using Primavera P6 and MS Project

  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office ? Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • PMP, PSP or CCP certification, a plus

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Educational/Certification Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other equivalent experience

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
