R10039071 Driver Trainer/Safety Compliance (Open) Location: Independence, OH - Rockside Woods Blvd - Management - North BSCColumbus, OH - Retail shop, Toledo, OH - Filling industrial How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Driver Trainer/Safety Compliance is responsible for the administrative coordination for the area's driver training program, maintaining regulatory compliance documentation, and helping promote an overall strong safety and compliance culture. In particular, you will: Assist/Train new and existing associates in driver training/defensive driving techniques including the "Smith Driver System", loading and unloading procedures, completion of required paperwork, fuel efficient driving and other techniques, company policies, and regulations; must be available for early start times Assist/ train new and existing associates in the safe use of forklift Administer road tests as part of the new driver selection process. Conduct annual driver road tests for all drivers Conduct forklift refresher training Assist with completion of the orientation program. Assist safety directors as a resource for driver/driving topics and material for safety meetings and help conduct meetings as required. Assist location managers in completing annual driver demonstrations. Complete follow up training that is identified through observation rides or accident investigations. Investigate unsafe delivery sites, as required. Help with or provide training required by government legislation for example, drug and alcohol training. Work safely and meet the requirements of all safety procedures and rules as prescribed by State laws, Federal law, and Airgas policies. This position will require extensive travel and overnight stays away from home. __Are you a MATCH? High School Diploma or GED CDL A with Hazmat required Minimum of 5 years of driving experience. Must have excellent organizational, written and oral communication and customer service skills. Computer literate with Intermediate knowledge of Google suite applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Prior knowledge of safety related and OSHA regulations preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various reports, and regulatory references. Detail oriented with the ability to complete compliance documentation neatly and accurately. Ability to effectively present information to associates, managers and outside vendors/regulatory representatives. Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines. Regional travel (90% of work time). Must have reliable transportation, minimum liability insurance as required by state of vehicle registration. Job may require visitation of to various Airgas sites which may have varying environments/conditions, layouts, and accessibility.
