IBM Application Database Administrator in St Louis, Missouri
Candidate must have the M204 skills below to cover Business as usual (BAU) and Disaster Recovery (DR) support:
Daily Logon to each instance and verify working. Also review syslogs etc for any errors and take action accordingly.Daily logon to change/problem mgmt systems (service now and remedy) and review for any items.
Daily handle mail messages from application teams as necessary.
Handle special requests from customer such as changing start and stop times of instances for special processing.
Be especially vigilante during holiday processing as instance startup shutdown times are subject to changes.
Handle any software problems that arise, work with Rocket software to get diagnostics and apply patch(s) if necessary.
Attend DR meetings and procure license codes for M204 and related products and apply DR license codes prior to startup of M204 instances.
Must be able to upgrade and apply patches for new releases of M204, current release is 7.5 for both accounts. This also requires cordinating with Client.
Review M204 performance settings as needed.
Run quarterly Health Check process for Kaiser and every 6 months for Anthem.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Must be able to upgrade and apply patches for new releases of M204 - skill level 4.
Must be comfortable with JCL/Procs, general ISPF and SDSF commands.
Must be comfortable with z/OS items such as APF authorized files, Linklst and LLA entries.
Must have a working knowledge of Started tasks and how they are shutdown and started.
Must have a knowledge of XDM and its function in M204 processing.
Must have a general knowledge of how M204 Database functions and can issue monitoring commands.
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
- 5+Years M204 installation/upgrade and maintenance Experience
