If you are interested in joining our team, please read the following to see if your skills and interests match our requirements: Summary: The Outside Sales position involves contacting existing and prospective customers at their place of business to assist them with the selection, purchase and application of a wide variety of fasteners, industrial hardware, tools, and maintenance and shop supplies. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional sales skills, customer service skills, time management skills, and be extremely well organized and self motivated. The position requires exercising planning and judgment to accomplish assigned goals. The position reports to the Regional Sales Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Demonstrate good customer service by delivering as promised and keeping appointments and pre-arranged schedules. This includes listening to the customers needs, requests and solving his/her problems. Develop and document an effective and efficient route management system for your market area. Drive a company vehicle to and from numerous customer locations throughout the day in order to deliver and put away orders, which includes lifting and carrying products into and out of customer locations. Understand and utilize the Remote Order Entry System and scheduling software. Maintain paperwork for accurate orders, returns and billing information. Respond to requests for quotes consistently and timely. Develop and document a marketing plan for current customers (establish written goals and plans for increasing sales through new and or promotional products, sales of 'specials', etc.) This includes a consistent and regular schedule of contact. Establish and document appropriate pricing schedules for each customer account with your supervisor's approval in order to maintain a reasonable gross margin. Develop and document a marketing plan for obtaining new customers. Identify specific potential customers and schedule customer contacts to establish a supplier relationship. Demonstrate continuous product knowledge improvement. Establish strong working relationships with your Branch Manager, purchasing staff, warehouse personnel and other support staff. Maintain excellent attendance. Operate and maintain company vehicle using safe driving techniques and following company guidelines for maintenance and repair. This position requires lots of windshield time. Physical requirements for outside sales: Able to drive and operate a vehicle safely Must load truck and deliver and put away orders which includes lifting and carrying products from truck to customer bin locations Must be able to set up new bins and storage equipment We are an EEO Employer/Vet/Disabled
