We seek a Technical Program Manager located in South San Francisco, CA who will be expected to manage both internal and external large technology projects.

This position will demonstrate strong prioritization, organizational, executive communication, and problem-solving skills. The candidate must be detail-oriented, well versed in project management methodologies and project life cycles, skilled in a cross-functional matrix environment of technical resources, possess Information Technology experience, possess the ability to multi-task, and work under moderate supervision.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks:

  • Develop and manage the Multi-Cloud Adoption program by collaborating with Product Management, Product Portfolio Leadership and other Engineering Managers

  • Collaborate with Engineering and CloudOps leaders to understand the business demand and supply so to accurately forecast capacity

  • Work closely with major internal engineering sites to establish site charters, recruiting strategy, communication cadence to drive engineering productivity and unify our global workforce.

  • Lead weekly program status meetings and executive reporting in leadership meetings.

  • Standardize and drive improvement in our product development lifecycle.

  • Help rally and organize our agile teams to deliver when unexpected changes come up

  • Bring cohesiveness, transparency, organization, and accountability to projects involving multiple teams or departments.

  • Drive and actively participate in the continuous improvement process; create an environment for continuous learning and improvement

  • Manage critical situations and mitigate potential impact on delivery

Job Requirements

Product Knowledge:

  • While a detailed knowledge of HCM Cloud product set is not required, must be prepared to rapidly obtain strong familiarly with core products and technology set.

Technical Skills

  • Thorough understanding of Multi-Cloud operating models and PDLC in agile development environments

  • Data Center operations experience in a high availability environment

  • Solid understanding of IT security, backups and disaster recovery principles

  • Experience with VMware, OpenStack, AWS or other virtualization technologies and services is highly desired

  • IT security background and experience managing datacenter security certification projects is highly desired

  • Strong technical grounding and experience with Enterprise database is a plus

  • Understanding of data privacy regulations is a plus

Soft Skills:

  • Must have demonstrated leadership ability or executive communication skills

  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to represent the SAP internally and externally at a Senior Management level

  • Hands on experience in Agile Coaching and Enterprise Agile transformation is a plus

  • Experienced in both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies

Experience & Language Requirements

  • 3 years of experience with the following:

  • Direct responsibility managing technology projects or programs in a diverse global organization

  • Interaction with multi-national customer base and colleagues

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Economic, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline

  • Desired / Not required:

  • PMP or Prince2 certification

  • Certified Scrum Master

  • ITIL v3 certification
