About the Program VASH works directly with Veterans by assisting them to navigate very complex systems (rental applications and requirements, HUD subsidy applications, benefits systems, public transportation, etc.) and other supportive assistance to Veterans to help them maintain residence and learn the skills to become as stably housed and independent as possible in the community. About the Position We have a Full-time opportunity for VASH Housing Specialist in Seattle, WA. This position will be responsible for property management duties including identifying and connecting case managers with rental properties, coordinating apartment maintenance needs with landlords; handling rental agreements and other tenant forms; obtaining business and DBA licenses; preparing project reports for CCS; assisting case management staff in advocating for our Veterans and other duties as assigned. This position will require flexibility and ability to use sound judgment in managing responsibilities and deadlines. Work Schedule : Monday- Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Qualifications • MUST have a Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Human Services or related field • Knowledge in the area of community resources and familiarity with HUD vouchering and rental markets • Experience working with homeless individuals, Veterans and the public housing authority. Preference will be given to Veterans • Administrative office experience with good verbal and written communication skills • Ability to deal with multiple project deadlines and overlapping responsibilities • Attention to detail and strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential • Knowledge using Apple products is a plus • Typing speed of at least 40 wpm • Must have a valid Washington driver's license and maintain a safe driving record • Must be able to pass a DHS criminal background check Pay & Benefits $18.00-$18.25 per hour DOE.
