Blue Origin LLC Dimensional Inspector III in Seattle, Washington

This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin's design, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will inspect development and flight vehicle components for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of providing accurate data on tight tolerance high value components to determine configuration per engineering designs. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities: Manage preparations for parts requiring non-contact inspection scanning methods. Inspection Software Quality Assurance. Program, setup and operate Blue Light inspection system. Perform Manual Layout on granite table of complex hardware. Using design data to inspect additive manufactured, machined and received components. Perform first article, in-process & final inspections. Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data. Document, track and complete nonconformance reports. Provide inspection time estimates. Maintain and track inspection equipment calibrations. Process improvement. Maintain configuration control on files and job records. Safely work within an industrial environment. Qualifications: A minimum of 8 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components. Superior blue print reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 or 2009 standard. Excellent communication skills. Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components. Familiar with the use of personal computers. Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: CAD system knowledge. Experience with ATOS Professional software. Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
