Sr. Robotic System Engineer
The charter of our R&D Lab is to define and drive the Advanced and Core platform technologies and roadmap that will power future LG products and bring innovation to the larger organization. As part of the Advanced Platform Lab you will be building the next-gen Robot Platform powered by webOS technologies and ROS/ROS2 that will enable easy and cost-efficient development of Robot products. As we expand our global footprint, we are looking for exceptional Robotic Engineering talent to architect, develop various core technologies on multiple different hardware architectures that will make future Home & Industry robots efficient and fun.

Do you enjoy figuring out how to best control the motion of your Robot and adding gestures with speech that will give a mind-blowing experience for users ?

Work on building Robotic Platform that is targeted towards disruptive products, based on embedded system architecture, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, sensor integration, motion planning, robot simulator, etc.
Create quick Proof of Concepts (POC) and project ownership around projects. POCs should help build rich robotics system experience for the organization, which can then be leveraged for the development of real world projects.
Design and implement robotic systems to address disruptive domains, with a focus on multi-purpose robots, smart devices, etc.
End to end hands-on ownership of robotics platform deployable across various projects in LG & outside – embedded system design, robot design and robotics development and integration with other embedded platforms, etc.
Work with other groups within LG (around AI and Robotics) while maintaining clear differentiation and value in our specific offerings, and leading the path of value driven robotic platform solutions that are innovative and deployable to real customers.
Some amount of familiarity with system bring-up, application development, and new hardware architecture is essential as we will be working across a range of new hardware (SOCs, GPUs) as part of early prototyping.
Must have Hands on coding experience with C/C++, Python, ROS/ROS2 Core technologies & Linux
Must have strong experience in any embedded linux platform development (Andoid, Tizen, webOS, etc..), HW system architecture design, SW architecture design and Robotics
Worked on or delivered some products in Embedded system, Autonomous Systems, Real-time communication, and Robotics
Experience on robotics algorithms development, hardware bring-up, machine learning
Experience contributing to ROS/ROS2 open source is a plus
One or more of the following: localization, perception, motion planning, control, sensor-integration
Experience with Agile SW development process, Git, Docker, cross-compile build tools like scratchbox, Yocto and bitbake.
Education and Required Experience.
Bachelor's degree +5 years of industry experience; or
a Master's degree and 3+ years industry experience; or
a PhD with 1+ years industry experience, preferred.
Experience including requirements gathering and relationship building with business clients.
Able to lead project teams, collaborate with business partners, vendor/consulting organizations and peer level professionals from other IT disciplines.
