Currently, we have an opening for a Senior Field Premium Auditor with a territory around the south SF bay area. Territory will stretch from Fremont south to San Jose and north to San Mateo. Territory will also cover areas south to Gilroy as well as Monterey and Santa Cruz. The person hired for this position will work from their home and will be required to travel throughout the assigned territory with occasional overnight travel. A company car is provided.
Examines / audits records to ensure that calculations of earned premium for risks are accurate.
Validates that correct classes are being applied and in accordance with company procedures by reviewing financial records and other relevant materials.
Tours the insured's premises.
Reviews results of audits with producers, underwriters, insureds and Premium Audit leadership. Identifies opportunities to resolve discrepancies.
Reviews certificates of insurance and determines which class codes apply to specific exposures. Reviews claims activity on policies to ensure that employee coding is consistent / accurate.
Provides effective Customer Service throughout the life cycle of Premium Audit functions.
Maintains current knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to jurisdictions and ensures correct and consistent application.
Provides guidance and assistance to lower level positions. May assist in training new employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Field of Study: Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
Experience: 5 years of field premium audit experience auditing workers' compensation policies.
Additional Requirements: Extensive knowledge of WCIRB & NCCI classification systems and manuals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage time and workload to complete audits accurately in a timely fashion; while also meeting company production targets.
Workers' compensation policy audit assignments will include multi-state and multi-entity accounts.
Associates in Premium Audit Program (APA) certification preferred.
