Sharp HealthCare Systems Analyst - Patient Financial Services in San Diego, California
The Systems Anaylst will support the Business Office staff in problem solving account receivables issues and implementing new software applications for the ultimate goal of streamlining processes.
PFS/CCD is the Business Office for A/R collections for large clinical medical group. It operates with a staff of approximately 75 staff members and is responsible for collections on accounts for both Occupational Medicine and Fee-for Service non Occupational Medicine.
Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.
This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County at our Spectrum Corporate Office
Hours:Day shift with flexible start time of 7 - 9am, weekends as needed.

Education / Certifications / and/or Licensure
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, computer science, business, informatics or related field OR four (4) years’ experience performing system analysis with business, clinical or administrative applications required.
Experience with business operations workflow in a healthcare environment preferred, such as admitting/registration, appointment scheduling, billing, insurance verification, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, physician credentialing, and/or HIM (Medical Records).
Experience with financial analysis/reconciliation, revenue management and claims workflow.
Experience with Software System implementation/Quality Assurance Testing/User Profiles, etc.
In-Depth knowledge of Access, Excel, i.e. arrays, pivot tables, etc.
Experience in an inpatient or outpatient clinical setting preferred.
Experience with patient flow, physician/clinician workflow, medical terminology, and the medical record, preferably in the clinical area to be supported by this position, preferred.
Excellent working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9 codes as it relates to physician billing
Knowledge of all Claims related EDI transaction sets required: 999, TA1, 277CA, 276/277, 837 and 835.
Experience leading or managing projects preferred.
