Northrop Grumman Engineering Technician 3 in San Diego, California

Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.

NGIS is currently looking for a Senior Engineering Technician to work in our Rancho Bernardo (near San Diego, CA) location.

Role description & Responsibilities:

  • Support Radar Cross Section (RCS) and Radio Frequency (RF) testing of test articles and antennas

  • Mount and dismount test articles on a test support pylon

  • Will be expected to work in man lift at height of 65 feet

  • Troubleshoot,maintain, repair and/or fabricate test equipment (production and prototype)

  • Assist in the verification, development and documentation of test procedures and special applications by interpreting product specifications

  • Will work multiple shifts

Experience Requirements:

  • Candidate must have 5-10 years of experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry or related military service


  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED (education will be verified)

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Mustbe a U. S. Citizen

  • Must already havea Current and ActiveDoD SecretClearance

  • Ability to use standard tools and shop equipment

  • Strong basic troubleshooting skills

  • Basic computer skills andMicrosoft applications (such as Word, Excel, Access and Outlook)

Preferred Skills/Education:

  • Craneoperations, rigging and lifting, forklift operation, cable handling, modelweight and balance checks

  • Network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies and power meters

  • Specialized Antenna/RCS data processing software(KNOWBELL, Pioneer, Spectrum 959)

Requisition may be filled at a lower level (Engineering Tech) with a High School Diploma and 2-4 years of experience
