Overview of Job Function:
The Director, Retail Banking Solutions will be part of a combined team that is responsible for managing software implementation and consulting projects with financial services organizations in the areas of branch operations measurements, process optimization, workforce planning, customer arrival forecasting, labor modeling and scheduling, and performance management.
The Director of Retail Banking Solutions will provide oversight and own the delivery of large-scale customer engagements for both software implementations as well as analytics and consulting projects. This individual will use prior experience in banking and consulting and serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of branch operations and business process measurement in the retail banking domain. The position will also support pre-sales efforts including communication with prospects to assess needs, scope projects, and draft proposals and statement of work documents.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
Lead team of project managers and training resources responsible for delivering software implementation projects.
Provide oversight to project managers and/or project leads on multiple projects involving the delivery of software implementations as well as analytics and consulting projects.
Serve as the first point of escalation above the project managers on multiple projects.
Serve as the project manager and lead complex software implementation and consultancy projects as required
Manage client expectations and ensure client and team satisfaction on projects.
Direct matrix internal teams in completing analytical work for software model results and consulting projects.
Create and deliver executive / c-level presentations/reports that outline project methodology, clearly layout business problems, and provide findings and recommendations to clients.
Transform “data” into intelligence and present breakthrough findings and analytics-backed recommendations.
Serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of business process measurement and optimization in the retail banking domain.
Provide guidance and advice to senior leaders within client organizations on best practices and how to implement recommendations from branch workforce management solutions as well as business process and optimization analytics and consulting projects.
Work closely with internal teams, clients, and prospects to gather requirements, scope engagements, and deliver executive level presentations.
Contribute ideas and effort to improve internal processes, enhance existing products and services, and create new/improved offerings.
Identify opportunities to expand the client relationship during active engagements and pass the information along to members of the client relationship and/or sales teams.
B.S. in a quantitative field, such as industrial engineering, business, mathematics, statistics, or closely related discipline, or equivalent work experience
12 + years relevant business experience approaches
5+ years of consulting experience
5+ years of experience in the Retail Banking industry
8 years of managing direct reports
Experience with successfully leading and delivering large-scale, complex software, analytics, and/or management consulting projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
Familiarity with analytical tools used for the types of engagements being delivered
Strong analytical skills along with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong leadership and client management skills
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work at all levels of the organization
Comfortable working on multiple projects, with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
Ability to synthesize results and communicate data analysis in a cogent, precise and actionable manner
Displays energy and drive in achieving goals and objectives
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Self-starter with ability to think conceptually
Must be willing to travel up to 50%
The ability to obtain the necessary credit line required to travel
Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations
MBA or Master’s in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or Management
Educational background in Industrial Engineering principles or Process Engineering and optimization is strongly preferred
