A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the Cancer Control and Population Sciences research program at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the University of Utah with Dr. Anne Kirchhoff. This position is for a new federally-funded study and part of the Huntsman-Intermountain Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Care Program, which includes a multidisciplinary team of researchers, physicians, nurses, and patient navigators. The position involves conducting interviews with adolescents and young adults with cancer regarding health insurance and financial costs of cancer care, assisting with the development and testing of an insurance navigation randomized controlled trial, and analyzing data/preparing manuscripts. The fellow will have opportunities to collaborate and be involved with multidisciplinary grant writing and the development of new projects, as well as to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The fellow will be encouraged to develop their own research and grants. Successful applicants will have a PhD in public health, health services, psychology, behavioral science, or other related fields, with experience in mixed methods research, interests in adolescent and young adult oncology, and experience with statistical programs such as Stata and SAS. The position requires excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills. The Cancer Control and Population Sciences (CCPS) Program at HCI is a comprehensive research program that spans the cancer control continuum from etiology, primary prevention, screening, and early detection to continuing care, survivorship, and end-of-life care.
