Job Summary The University of Utah Physician Assistant Program at the University of Utah is seeking applicants for a full-time, 1.0 FTE 12 month, faculty position for a Pharmacist educator at the rank of Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the Division of Physician Assistant Studies. The faculty member will be based at our St. George, Utah campus and will report to the St. George Site Director and Program Director. The programs close affiliation with the University of Utah Health Sciences Center provides faculty an opportunity to become involved in research and development as well as being an environment conducive to educational and technological advancements. Job Responsibilities We seek an experienced Pharmacist educator to join our faculty team. The successful applicant will serve as a general faculty member at the St. George, Utah campus with primary responsibilities within the didactic year. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position. Responsibilities include: Course directing and teaching pharmacological topics embedded within the didactic curriculum. The candidate will work with the didactic team to ensure full and successful integration of pharmacology into didactic education of physician assistant students Evaluating students with examination based testing, lab skills testing or standardized patient encounters as appropriate Instruction in appropriate medical record production, specifically SOAP note production, focusing on therapeutics, medication reconciliation, and histories surrounding pharmacotherapeutics Facilitating the development of clinical problem solving through the exploration of clinical cases Participation in faculty development processes and meetings surrounding ARC-PA accreditation Grading of students as appropriate Qualifications Applicant must have a PhD or PharmD degree from a regionally accredited academic institution. The following are also requirements: Hold or be eligible for unrestricted Utah State Pharmacy licensure A minimum of three years clinical experience Teaching experience with heath care professionals (preferably physician assistant students) in delivering pharmacologic content Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills Interest in areas that align with our program mission is strongly preferred An interest in scholarship and professional development Preferences Experience working with physician assistants or physician assistant students Interprofessional working and teaching experience Interest and experience in community engagement and working with underserved populations To Apply The search committee will accept applications until the position is filled.
