The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Utah invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor-level in Research Track. Duties include applications of biostatistics in collaborations with biomedical researchers, teaching approximately one graduate level course per year, supervision of graduate students, and methodological research. We are seeking candidates who possess the research skills and experience required to successfully assume leadership roles in multi-disciplinary research teams within the institution and in national and international research networks and to participate in methodological research in biostatistics. Substantive interest and experience is desired in one or more of the following areas: Methods for modern causal inference, comparative effectiveness research, pharmacological research, clinical trial design including the design of adaptive randomized trials, analysis of secondary data, and applications of mixed effects models to health data. The Department of Population Health Science is an academic home for faculty conducting methodologically oriented research in disciplines related to population health. Research activities encompass discovery of new knowledge about determinants of health and disease, translating evidence into practice improvements, and developing innovations in care delivery. Faculty will capitalize on Utahs world-class data resources and expertise in data processing and analysis. In addition to biostatistics, excellent opportunities are available for collaborative research in randomized clinical trials, epidemiological studies, health services research, human genetics and genomics, and bioinformatics. Requirements A Ph.D. in biostatistics or a related discipline is required, as well as a demonstrated excellence in collaborative and methodological research. Post-doctoral training and-or experience is desired.
