Sr. Manager, Technology

The Technology Portfolio Manager ensures that our technology investments and strategic business goals are tightly coupled. This is a critical role in our technology transformation and strategy organization. Prioritizing our technology development schedule to deliver tangible business value, in line with our ever evolving business objectives, ensures that our technology investments help our customers succeed by bringing ingenuity, simplicity, and humanity to banking.

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with business leaders to articulate and capture their vision, translating it into objectives and initiatives

  • Partner with technology leaders to align roadmaps and epics with business strategy

  • Develop and execute the strategic planning process, including: prioritizing initiatives, roadmapping, managing capacity, opportunities, strategic risks, issues and conflicts

  • Define the big picture portfolio view of our business driven technology organization

You will bring skills and experience in strategic planning, organizational change management, project management and communication to influence our senior leaders and evolve the entire organization to be strategic, outcome driven, and optimized in pursuit of our goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage LOB General Managers, business domain VPs and technology executives to refine, document, develop and iterate objectives, initiatives, goals and strategies

  • Execute monthly processes, business cadence meetings to drive updates, creation of management decision support material and dashboards

  • Drive governance and coordinate committee meetings for periodic reviews, decisions, re-prioritization, identify opportunities and refine initiatives

  • Ensure end to end execution of business processes through multiple enterprise systems for effective tracking, measurement, reporting and visualization

  • Continuously improve and refine the management framework driving efficiency and maturity while minimizing administrative overhead and complexity

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

  • Display teamwork, strong communication, and negotiate and lead across all levels

  • Create transparency and foster relationships

  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive process and portfolio efforts

  • Demonstrate analytical and quantitative skills – ability to establish metrics and utilize data to measure operational efficiency, team health, organizational performance

  • Demonstrate ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

  • Exhibit a high degree of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • Be an Effective communicator – ability to create clarity amongst diverse groups from team members to stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.

  • At least 3 years of experience managing technology teams in an Agile environment.

  • At least 3 years of experience in Project Management

  • At least 3 years of experience in Relationship Management

  • At least 3 years of experience with business finance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Process Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Computer Science or Information Systems

  • Strong understanding of business finance, including P&L and Software Capitalization.

  • Strong understanding of Software development, microservices, machine learning, and big data analytics, and AWS

  • 3 + years of experience with creating, refining, and reporting strategy progress, risk and cost

  • 3 + years of experience with managing portfolios, programs, or projects with multiple work streams, complex stakeholder structures and large-scale execution.

  • 5 + years of experience in Relationship or client management

  • 5 + years of people management

  • Certified in Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, or Business Process Management
