VCU Health in Richmond, VA is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist.

A nursing professional development specialist, influences professional role competence and professional growth of learners in a variety of settings: supports lifelong learners in an interprofessional environment that facilitates continuous development and learning for the healthcare team. Provides expert consultation, direction, leadership and accountability for education program development, implementation and evaluation at the organizational systems level. Includes professional development and empowerment of staff as well as management of resources to promote desired outcomes with attention to quality, efficiency and cost.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment including CPR, etc. (Note: Required credentials are limited to those required by law, regulation, or professional standard.)

? Current RN licensure in Virginia

? AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent

Level and type of experience REQUIRED

? Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience; including a minimum three (3) years of current staff education and professional development experience

Level and type of experience PREFERRED

? Clinical leadership role experience

? Progressive experience in staff education and professional development (orientation, preceptorship, in-service education, etc.)

? Academic health care experience

Education/training REQUIRED (Note: work experience may be considered in lieu of credentials not required by law with HR approval. Eight years for undergraduate degree; Twelve years for Graduate degree. Work experience must be specific to role)

? Master's Degree in Nursing or related field. If Master's Degree is not in nursing, then it is required to have a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.

Education/Training PREFERRED

? Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

? Certification in Nursing Professional Development or clinical specialty

AHA Basic Life Support Instructor certification
