FORT BEND COUNTY MUNICIPAL Tire Service Technician in Richmond, Texas

FORT BEND COUNTY DEPARTMENT: ROAD and BRIDGE JOB TITLE: TIRE SERVICE TECHNICIAN Fort Bend County is ranked as one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. JOB SUMMARY: Provides tire repair and maintenance for department vehicles. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Repairs and maintains tires and tire equipment for department vehicles. Maintains available inventory of all service center vehicles and equipment, tires, tubes, and wheels. Makes road calls to install tires on department vehicles, as needed. Inspects tools and equipment used in tire repair and requests replacement equipment as needed. Cleans, inspects, restores, and reassembles rims and rings to safe working condition. Balances tire and wheel after assembly. Coordinates with supervisor regarding upcoming equipment usage. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED. Two years job related experience including thorough knowledge of tire and wheel maintenance. Knowledge of tire sensors and placement; knowledge of tractors, high water vehicles and emergency vehicles. Ability to understand and carry out instructions. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize own work. Valid Texas Commercial Drivers License. SALARY RANGE: $17.60 - $22.00 hourly based on qualifications.
