IBM Lead Business Analyst - Pricing@IBM in RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, North Carolina

The IBM CIO organization plays a major role in delivering new technology to IBMers. We are looking for an experienced Lead Business Analyst to oversee the work of multiple Business Analysts (also known as Proxy Product Owners) in our internal agile software development squads. Our applications are built by self-directed, end-to-end development squads, and the Lead Business Analyst will provide consistent requirements management and leadership across the BAs (PPOs) in multiple squads who are supporting IBM's Services Pricing applications.

The Lead BA job responsibilities include:

  • Serve as overall Services Pricing Lead BA for multiple global DevOps squads

  • Collaborate with the Pricing Business Product Owners (BPOs) to understand their requirements and manage the demand as needed to implement the prioritized requirements through the DevOps squads

  • Ensure the business acceptance criteria is well understood, documented and implemented

  • Schedule and facilitate playback and demo sessions to showcase the deliverables for each sprint to the business

  • Lead the user acceptance testing (UAT), including getting the business approvals required for production deployments

  • Work as the primary liaison between the business and the CIO to communicate the product backlog and status of requirements into the sprint planning process

  • Ensure squad BAs are trained on current DevOp tools and processes

  • Ensure user story metrics are updated each Sprint and documented in the appropriate tool

  • Collaborate with other leaders to transform high-level technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirements and designs

  • Ensure all required documentation to support compliance (ASCA/SOX or other) is kept current and accessible

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

A minimum of 5 years experience:

  • As a BA writing IT requirements (user stories)

  • Leading other BAs or technical writers

  • Working as a BA for financial or pricing systems

  • Working as part of a large multinational project team

  • Working with spreadsheet applications

  • Coordinating stakeholder meetings

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with strong work ethic and strong eagerness to learn

  • Demonstrated experience learning business processes to be able to effectively test the application for the business processes they support

  • Demonstrated experience to work as part of an Agile team as a strong team player

  • Demonstrated collaboration skills, including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical contributors, as well as between development teams and senior leadership

  • Proven talent for uniting and motivating teams towards a common goal

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading application development and maintenance of pricing or financial systems

  • Demonstrated experience using GitHub/ZenHub and related integrated DevOps practices and tools for agile software development project management
