Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer Lead in Redmond, Washington

In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the Quoting services (feature design, development, verification, deployment) that support Microsoft enterprise customers. Experience leading a team of developers to deliver global, highly available, highly scalable services. Candidate should be adept at applying his/ her experience with a focus on problem solving, building an end to end system with a strong focus on Quality of Service/Live Site Management.

Candidate should be highly customer obsessed and have a strong drive for high quality.

Responsibilities

Design, write and deliver software to support feature requests provided by product owners and user community.

Contribute in debugging, troubleshooting complete stack of a service and drive analysis of an outage; write software and build automation to resolve problems permanently.

This role will manage between 6 to 8 developers.

Manage service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning.

Drive code reviews, bug/issue triage, and support decision making process towards business and engineering goals.

Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services and systems; assess design and code changes to drive improvements.

Qualifications

Basic -

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years software development experience (online services preferred) and experience in testing, deploying and supporting large scale services on cloud-based environment

  • Excellent C# coding skills building enterprise scale web applications

  • Experience leading a team of developers to deliver global, highly available, highly scalable services with a strong focus on Quality of Service/Live Site Management.

Preferred -

  • 2+ years of engineering leadership experience

  • Good skills developing performant T-SQL programmable objects

  • Good communication skills to articulate problem statements and applicable solutions

  • Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases, and debug server-side, multi-threaded, and highly scalable applications
