Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Manager in Redmond, Washington
We’re looking for a senior program manager with the right mix of technical depth, engineering background, on-line services experience and cross-org collaboration skills to help evolve our SharePoint migration strategy to accelerate customers’ migrations from their on-premises solutions to SharePoint and OneDrive in Office365.
Office365 has become a billion-dollar business, winning the title of being the fastest growing product in Microsoft, with fans in enterprise and small business. Over this short period of time we’ve transformed our on premises products to great cloud solutions. We’re building the next wave of Office 365 to grow to 100s of millions of monthly active users. Migration is the key technology that will directly contribute to acquiring new customers from their existing environment to Office 365.
The OneDrive and SharePoint team is looking for a rock star Senior PM to help evolve our migration tools and processes to remove existing road blocks to help our customers easily transform their productivity to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to work with engineering teams across OneDrive and SharePoint to create an easy migration path to the cloud, interact with external migration ISVs who offer migration tools, and internal teams like FastTrack who work directly with customers on their migration activities.
If you’re ready to work on the cutting edge of transitioning our customers to the cloud, while satisfying and exciting thousands of enterprises and millions of small business, this is the role for you.
As part of the Office 365 organization, we are taking the most popular collaboration platform and productivity suite in the world (over 125 million users!) to a service model that gives businesses the functionality, reliability, and rapid innovation they need without the burden of IT infrastructure and support costs. As leaders in the market for cloud productivity software, we compete with companies like Google, Salesforce, Box.net, and Dropbox. SharePoint extensibility and ecosystem power billions in partner revenue, our partner conferences drew over 10,000 attendees.
We are a team that loves big challenges and has a long history of shipping features for the Office organization. Every week we work on a very broad set of technologies and problems: enabling collaboration between businesses and their customers on a shared vision and capabilities for users at work and at home. Specifically, we own the on-premises customer experience, our traditional customer who has slowly become “cloud curious”. Helping bridge these customers to the cloud, while at the same time evolving and improving their existing IT assets on-prem, is our mission.
Succeeding in this role will require the following skills and experience:
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leading without authority skills
Excellent ability to design, prioritize, plan, and track large scale programs
Track record and strong results driving features across a product
Technical depth and broad, high-level understanding of system design
Past experience in building cloud engineering systems or global distributed cloud is a plus
5+ years of PM experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field
