Digital Security and Risk Engineering (DSRE) is looking for a senior engineering program manager to support Cloud Services Standards within the Security Standards and Configurations team. Are you passionate for Cloud Services and Security, then this is you opportunity to be a leader in setting the security Standards for how Microsoft leverages cloud technologies in the enterprise. In this role you will work with different groups within CSEO as well as Product Groups in setting the direction on how specific Cloud Services are used in a secure manner. This is a fantastic opportunity to have broad company impact, grow connections across the company, and have leadership visibility.

In this role you will be a Subject Matter Expert in at least one Cloud Platform (e.g. Azure, O365, Dynamics) and will be empowered to determine which services and features are acceptable for use and how they should be used. You will be responsible for creating security guidance that will enable engineering teams to implement services in a secure manner and assessment teams to validate engineering designs and deployments.

The successful candidate is a technical leader in Security and Cloud Services with a track record getting results through influence in a matrix environment.


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop security vision, roadmap and priorities for one or more Cloud Platform(s).

  • Serve as Security Subject Matter Expert within CSEO and other Microsoft groups alike on one or more Cloud Platform(s).

  • Lead and Identify cross-organizational teams to create and maintain Security guidance (e.g. Baselines, Reference Architectures, Design Patterns, Control Procedures) for one or more Cloud Platform(s).

  • Define KPIs and communicate progress to leadership on security guidance coverage for one or more Cloud Platform(s).


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical program management or similar role.

  • 5+ years of experience architecting on one or more Cloud Platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Azure and/or M365 services/features.

  • 5+ years of experiences producing quality technical documentation.

  • 2+ years of experience securing cloud solutions or strong security background.

  • Extensive leadership skills, including the ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively across multiple business groups with clear intent.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate across diverse teams, with different styles, in a matrix environment.

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to write concise technical documentation.

  • Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work with deadlines.

  • Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting to management.

The ideal candidate must have experience working on a matrix organization with a strong ability to lead through influence. Must be able to effectively drive conversations with clear intent and in alignment with project/program objectives and priorities.
