Microsoft Corporation SBO Business Program Manager / Business Manager in Redmond, Washington

Do you want to play a leadership role in modernizing the Microsoft Services business? Are you a leader with proven ability to work across organizational and geographic boundaries for maximum impact? Services Business Operations (SBO) is hiring a Business Manager, whose mission is to modernize Services to compete effectively while enabling agility and trusted experiences that meet the needs of our customers, partners and colleagues. This high-profile role will work across SBO and BEO to ensure that the organization is healthy and the outcomes support the broader transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead key initiatives and processes, including leader onboarding, escalation management and stakeholder management.

  • Think strategically at a global level and develop key processes, procedures and communications that facilitate business planning and execution.

  • Oversight of operational issues, participate in overall strategy discussions, lead key strategic initiatives, and facilitate business execution.

  • Understand & support the cross team prioritization of investments, manage tradeoff processes and highlight key portfolio risks.

  • Support and prepare the GM in leading the business - keynote/presentation content delivery, organization alignment support, etc

  • Oversee and support team in headcount, hiring, vendor management, etc

  • Facilitate business planning and execution of budget ($180M+) and forecasts for a 300-person organization

  • Lead planning and execution of ROB, including business reviews, leadership team meetings, and off sites.

  • Drive broader people initiatives w/communication and evangelism.

  • Willing to challenge norms and roll up your sleeves to help the team be successful.

Expedite SBO initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience required, MBA a plus

  • 7+ years of relevant business experience in Program and/or business management

  • Demonstrated experience in working with and a part of business or operations leadership teams to drive organization process, governance and standards

  • Ability to impact and influence at GM level. Outstanding communication skills to facilitate support and engagement at all levels of the organization.

  • High level of organization, planning, prioritization and attention to detail

  • Ability to work and create structure in complex and ambiguous situations and respond flexibly in time sensitive situations

  • Conflict / Negotiation management - demonstrated influencing skills

  • Strong written/oral communication skills required along with desire and ability to communicate with business leaders through all levels of the organization.

  • Strong end to end thinking with process orientation; ability to develop enterprise-wide solutions

  • High energy and a “can do” attitude. Ability to motivate self and others
