Microsoft Corporation Program Manager 2 in Redmond, Washington

On our engineering team, the PMs rely on data, engage directly with partners and customers, and are knowledgeable about the online learning landscape. This helps us make informed decisions about how to deliver experiences for professional learning.

We have an immediate opening for a Program Manager 2 to focus on helping Microsoft customers gain skills on Azure and other Microsoft technologies. On this team, you'll define the needs across an entire learning ecosystem: learners, technology partners, and content partners. You'll need to be the resident expert in what is being built on the current horizon, as well as define and drive the future horizons. This role will also include responsibilities to be part of an engineering team operating with an agile cadence, so you'll be working closely across engineering, marketing, business, content creators, and operations. You’ll collaborate on defining the experience as well as designing the services in support of it.

  • Lead cross group initiatives from concept to execution in support of business requirements and customer needs

  • Connect with customers and reflect customer empathy in product design and experience

  • Stay on top of market, technology and competitive trends and drive new ideas/concepts/technologies into the product

  • Identify challenges and opportunities; participate in problem solving and solutioning

  • Promote hypothesis driven product development and data-driven decisioning making, including testing and A/B experimentation


  • 3+ years of experience shipping multiple releases and versions of software is required

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Human Computer Integration or a related discipline or equivalent work experience is required

  • Expertise in design process, data-driven decision making, and ability to technically assess advantages and disadvantages, with deep understand of design trade-offs

  • Real passion for online learning and providing opportunities for professionals to gain skills

  • Dedication to user research and data analysis

  • Successful definition of scenarios that enable customer and business themes

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple partners, across a team and across organizational boundaries

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience with agile methodologies is required

  • Organizational skills and a detail-orientation nature

  • Energy to motivate teams, discern issues, and solve them
