This role is responsible for deploying capacity in collaboration with various Engineering Groups with the focus on automating and optimizing pre-dock service delivery.
With an engineering program management and process improvement mindset, this specific role will focus anywhere from data center and network readiness to driving process efficiencies via automation. The role will be focused on ensuring execution of deployments are on track and on driving engineering automation improvements.
Project manage deployments including servers, network, storage, and supporting infrastructure.
Drive deep analysis of deployment progress, blockers, and incidents by leveraging existing tools, reports and creating new reports and dashboards through Microsoft based tools (e.g. Power BI).
Develop a deep understanding of the workflows in the system as well as the actual work required by data centers and engineering groups. Lead initiatives to identify automation opportunities and delivery solutions that increase deployment quality while reducing deployment cycle time.
Make data-driven decisions and speak to key stakeholders in terms of data-driven stories.
Utilize enhanced tooling, reports and dashboards to drive daily and weekly triage of blockers in the system as well as predictive indicators for demand to be on track.
Own metrics and analytics that show the performance of the deployments against goals, as well as trending.
Develop and drive strategies to manage deployment demand through the work flow management system in alignment with organizational goals related to throughput and cycle time.
Drives process standards and common methodologies for various physical and logical deployment activities such as network cabling installation, procurement, docking coordination, network provisioning, etc.
Collaborate closely with data center PM’s and Engineering groups as a part of process enhancements.
Develop engineering requirements and collaborate with partner software engineering teams to develop automation within the deployment process
7+ years industry experience in engineering program management, IT operations, manufacturing engineering, or service engineering
BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Exceptional cross-team skills
Demonstrated technical problem solving and communication skills
Excellent analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with rapidly changing requirements
Ability to develop, troubleshoot and improve Powershell scripts
Data analysis/presentation: SQL and Power BI or equivalent experience
Well versed in project management methodologies, approaches and tools
Expertise in deployment of high-performance, highly available, large scale distributed network and related technologies
Proven track record of partnering with software engineering teams to drive improvements in tooling and automation
Understanding of process engineering and optimization, including gathering, analyzing, and defining business and functional requirements; creating global metrics, trend charts and other decision-making tools
Knowledge of Supply Chain principles: Forecasting, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing
Six sigma experience a plus
