We are the Identity Security prevention & response team ensuring the integrity and security of 2B+ commercial identities (Azure Active Directory) & consumer accounts (Microsoft Account). Each day, our detection systems and machine learning algorithms evaluate and risk score more than 25 billion logins for 1B monthly active users which include customers of Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, & Microsoft Azure. We have an incredibly unique role available that is at the heart of our efforts straddling incident response, analysis/investigations, and security feature development. Responsibilities include:
Conceptualize innovative anti-compromise and anti-fraud service enhancements to be made available to all our customers worldwide. Drive end-to-end delivery of such new capabilities while tapping into your skills at experimentation and data-based decision-making to deliver the best security solutions which are both easily adopted by our customers as well as easy-to-use. Deliver these world class solutions by working in conjunction with partner teams across Microsoft as well as across the industry.
Work hand-in-glove with our team of world-class security analysts to help construct and enhance tools and processes for better monitoring, risk detection, and investigative efficiency. Additionally, use your learnings and expertise to “always stay a few steps ahead” of adversaries attempting to exploit new attack vectors at scale, and proactively drive development/enhancement of defense mechanisms. In doing so, work collaboratively across Microsoft including with our threat intelligence teams and other members of our defender community.
Contribute tangible to our efforts on incidence response and in mitigating security issues within our domain via periodic participation in a 24 x 7 rotation schedule. Help evolve our processes, procedures, and internal guidance – in conjunction with other defender teams across Microsoft – to ensure we factor in learnings continually.

Previous experience in any of the following: identity systems, security, threat intelligence, fraud, abuse
Outstanding math and statistics skills with demonstrated applied machine learning and/or analytics experience
An ability to drive good decisions through data with great attention to detail and excellent logical problem-solving skills
Proven experience with rapid prototyping, evaluation, and iterative improvement
Prior experience in software development including proficiency with one of more of Python, SQL, Java, C#, C++ Proficiency in interacting with big data infrastructure and resultant pipelines to perform NRT/batch analytics (e.g. Kafka, Spark, Azure Cosmos DB, HDInsight, Hadoop)
Graduate degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics, or quantitative domain
Strong communication skills with a demonstrated bias towards collaboration and team work
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
