Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineering Manager in Redmond, Washington

The Identity division in Cloud + AI delivers world class authentication services for the Microsoft cloud. Azure Active Directory is the identity platform for Azure and Office 365. By using Azure Active Directory, organizations are empowered to offer their employees and partners access to applications (like Office 365), data and resources in a secure and controlled way, from virtually anywhere.

The Managed Identity and Authorization team within Identity division is looking for a talented engineering manager who is passionate about large scale problems and can help us drive the next wave of innovation in our cloud services. We are a local group of supportive team players, working on critical and strategic projects involving high-performance design, coding, and optimization work in a fast-paced agile development environment. We regularly collaborate with other seasoned engineers across Microsoft while learning a ton and working on a variety of technologies. Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities include leading a team of engineers to deliver the next set of features and optimizations in the core Managed Identity and Authorization service. You would have opportunities to deliver significant customer and business impact, lead the team in an agile way, and be hands on with technical problems. You would collaborate with teams across Identity division and Microsoft to achieve common goals and to drive impact across the entire Microsoft cloud, as authentication and identity are core to Azure and Office 365.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of industry experience developing commercial software application or services

  • 3+ years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline

  • Working experience in online services/large scale systems is a plus

  • Working knowledge of a modern programming language, C# preferred, but C/C++/Java acceptable.

  • Track record of delivering innovation and results, leadership and collaboration
