Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineering Manager in Redmond, Washington
We are the Azure Confidential Computing (ACC) team. Our team plays a key leadership role in Azure by driving confidential computing technologies, solutions, and strategy. We are seeking software engineers to design and develop a new confidential computing platform for protecting sensitive customer data in cloud environments.
You will have an opportunity to contribute across the stack including developing confidential computing infrastructure, defining developer experiences, and enabling confidential computing services to provide provable confidentiality and privacy guarantees to customers. Most of our projects are open-sourced (see https://openenclave.io for more information). This position requires low-level software development skills and passion for learning new technologies. You will be exposed to attestation technology, container technology, Azure services, and Azure infrastructure (from physical machines all the way to how an Azure virtual machine is provisioned).

Responsibilities
Closely engage with customers and understand the customer needs to provide solutions with confidentiality and privacy guarantees.
Enable Azure Confidential Computing (ACC) APIs and Infrastructure that work seamlessly across a variety of platforms by collaborating effectively across groups and teams worldwide.
Build a team with a collaborative team culture.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of software development experience
3+ years of people management experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Low level systems programming experience
Knowledge of container and orchestration technology
Demonstrated grasp of crypto basics and common security protocols
Strong aptitude for designing, developing, debugging, and delivering excellent products
Experience developing for hardware, firmware, or operating system security
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
