Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Are you an experienced programmer interested in working with a small, friendly team of world class experts in building out a cloud scale consumer-facing AI service? Do you want to combine the intensity of working in a lean startup with the security and resources and working at one of the world’s leading tech companies.

If you have crackerjack programming skills, want to build muscle shipping AI+cloud+mobile systems and want to work in a small team over the next 18-24 months, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for cloud developers who can also build good UI quickly.

Responsibilities

You will take on the challenge to develop and scale new services and cloud offerings. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate excellence in designs and code that has been produce, be a creative thinker to develop features that map to customer and partner team needs. You will write secure, reliable and maintainable code and then effectively test and debug. You collaborate first and foster an environment of innovation, risk taking, diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (such as Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, etc.).

  • 10+ years of experience coding in C#, .NET, C++ Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in software development - Linux and OSS experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.

  • 10+ years of experience designing and developing complex web applications

  • Experience building Web applications from scratch

  • Experience developing, deploying, and managing distributed applications

  • Architecting and deployment of new back end services, public APIs, or websites

  • Experience with A/B testing, monitoring user behavior and performance
