The Application Security and Consent Team within Microsoft’s Identity Division is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to drive the future of application consent for Microsoft.
Consent is a complex, multi-faceted problem that requires balancing the needs of end users, application developers, company admins, as well as privacy and governance concerns. Our aim is to reimagine Microsoft’s consent model in a way that is clean, comprehensible, robust, consistent, compliant, and secure.
This job opening is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a multi-year effort to revolutionize the way that the Identity Division, Microsoft, and the broader industry think about application consent, privacy, and security. Improved consent experiences are a critical element of Microsoft’s strategy to deliver the best cloud platform in the world.
As the driver of Microsoft’s vision for application consent, you will dive deeply into the technical complexities of this area and partner with groups across the company to forge a vision for the future. Through your exemplary design, coding, and test contributions, you will provide hands-on technical leadership within our agile community of engineers and raise the bar on what the whole group is able to achieve, ultimately guiding the team to fully realize the vision that you help establish
- 10+ years software engineering experience
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, or related discipline
A track record of successfully delivering user-, admin-, and developer-facing products or platforms
Experience building high-scale, public-facing, RESTful cloud services
Familiarity with SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, LDAP, and related technologies
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
