Microsoft Corporation Hardware Engineering Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

The Xbox Devices Team is looking for an experienced hardware (HW) program manager who has a proven track record of leading teams in the development of innovative consumer devices. We want to positively impact the world of entertainment, improve people’s lives, delight our customers, and help discover, and ship, new and inclusive experiences that revolutionize the gaming industry! Responsibilities

As a HW Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team from product conception to mass production. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with product marketing, industrial design, and engineering to support program roadmaps and business case development for new product introductions. Lastly, you will be accountable for balancing program goals across product performance, product cost, schedule, and development budget. Domestic and international travel is required.

Qualifications

Must Have Qualifications:

  • BS/MS Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree.

  • Minimum 4+ years program managing complex HW programs in a fast-paced environment.

  • A solid understanding of technical engineering principles and analytical techniques.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written form, as well as comprehend and assimilate technical concepts across multiple disciplines.

  • Experience with 2 significant product development cycles in high volume, consumer industries.

  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a team to solve technical, quality, cost, and schedule challenges.

  • Passionate about consumer products and home entertainment.

  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and self-driven.

The following qualifications are strongly desired:

  • Experience with gaming and entertainment consumer products.

  • Organizing and leading cross functional/organization teams and managing resources.

  • Experience with mechanical design process and manufacturing.

  • Experience working with international development and manufacturing teams.

  • Explore and understand competitive landscape in both product and business terms.
