Microsoft Corporation Director Data Analytics in Redmond, Washington

Who are we?

We are a data analytics team that supports the Modern Life, Search & Devices business area. Our team’s mission is to deeply understand consumers and grow customer engagement through data, actionable insights and machine learning. We empower Microsoft’s engineering, marketing, and finance leaders to make strategic decisions with data. To do this, we work closely with multiple teams within engineering, marketing, and finance to deliver actionable insights which drive product adoption, user growth and engagement, satisfaction and monetization.

Who are we looking for?

We are searching for a Director of Data Analytics to lead our Search and Browser insights. The ideal candidate will have proven experience and passion for leveraging underlying product usage and business data to discover insights that will impact and change how we approach product strategy, business planning and marketing programs. In this role you will also lead the effort deliver monthly insights and briefings to our executive stakeholders for their leadership metrics.


  • Lead a team of Data Analysts to deliver user growth and monetization insights focused on our Search and Browser products

  • Collaborate across multiple partner groups to develop monthly and long term strategic analytical learning plans that drive business impact

  • Act as a partner and strategic advisor with leadership to influence and impact Search and Edge Business Planning, Engineering and Marketing

  • Deliver monthly leadership metric insights to EVP and CVP stakeholders

  • Create a collaborative environment where data analysts, data scientists, and partner teams thrive and deliver impactful product and business outcomes together


  • Strong analytical, technical development, project and program management skills

  • Ability to understand, translate and map strategic business and product problems into analysis projects which drive growth

  • Ability to work independently, in highly ambiguous environments, with both technical and business groups

  • Experience delivering data-driven insights to senior executives

  • Reputation for helping your peers, manager and team members succeed

  • Passionate about creating a diverse and inclusive culture

  • 5+ years of management experience leading a team of data analysts

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in data analytics or data science
