Microsoft Corporation Business Manager in Redmond, Washington

Are you an experienced business manager looking for an opportunity to have an impact? Are you a high-energy, detail-oriented team player with great communication skills and an affinity for fast evolving environment? The EPIC Design and Research team owns a broad array of end-to-end user experiences across Windows, Office, Mobile and Devices. As a Business Manager, you will partner closely with our Design and Research leaders to establish and manage a rhythm of business, budget, headcount, track our org success relative to metrics and report them on regular basis. Because our programs shift throughout the year, you will need to be comfortable with a changing environment, providing grounding for the team. You will also need to be a strategic thinker, helping us stay prepared for our future needs.

  • Create a regular cadence of business and drive monthly business reviews

  • Provide actionable business insights that enable effective management and decision-making

  • Track and report our organizational metrics

  • Drive for improvements within our business process and resources

  • Partner closely with LT, Finance, HR, and Recruiting to manage headcount and budget

  • Partner with the team on vendor staffing strategy, and optimizing our vendor resources

  • Assist the team with Procurement and Purchase Order process

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience working on rhythm-of-business activities, business operations, business management, finance, or other similar environments.

  • 7+ years of experience in business analysis, business management or finance role, preferably with creative teams

  • Ability to story-tell business and financial analytics and reports to audiences spanning multiple disciplines & seniority levels, including senior executives

  • Proven effectiveness driving complex multi-stakeholder planning processes, leading cross-team programs to desired results, and managing risk

  • Proven ability to work across organizations and reporting boundaries to get things done

  • Bachelor’s degree business, finance, engineering, operations or equivalent experience
