Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC Engineer III in Raymond, Ohio

Collect functional (hardware, software, and communication) requirements for infotainment system components.  Propose, develop, and justify new functions, including hardware, software, Human Machine Interface (HMI), etc. to meet market demands.  Develop, write, and issue specifications and test plans for parts and systems.  Create and manage the part development schedule in conjunction with suppliers, designers, styling, etc. to meet the overall vehicle development.  Manage part supplier activities to achieve development requirements on schedule.  Perform vehicle testing (hardware and functional) for product acceptance for mass production.  Troubleshoot test failures and perform root cause analysis to find countermeasures and implement reoccurrence prevention processes.  Write reports, presentations, and technical documents to explain and/or make a record of the development activities.  Support the factory, sales, and other departments for product explanations, owner's manual reviews, manufacturing issues, and market complaints.  Perform market analysis and continuous improvement activities for vehicle developments.

*Requirements: *Bachelor's degree in Electrical Eng., Computer Eng., Comp. Sci., or Communications Eng.; 3 yrs relevant professional exp; 3 yrs exp in engineering; 3 yrs exp in performing bench testing or testing on vehicles; 3 yrs exp correlating information of unit development activities and specification implementation to sales, service, and manufacturing; 3 yrs exp in working with oscilloscopes and multi-meter measurement devices; 3 yrs exp in recording waveforms through different types of measurement devices using an oscilloscope; 3 yrs exp in of using multi-meter to take impedance, voltage, and current measurements in a repeatable and consistent manner; 3 yrs exp in SCRUM information share method; 3 yrs exp in working with waterfall and agile development methodologies; 3 yrs exp in leading system verifications (technical evaluation of unit development) and assessing development progress and any concerns; 3 yrs exp in tracking concern items found and leading projects towards resolution schedule, implementing technical root cause identification methods (e.g., FTA or FMEA), and negotiating a compromised spec; and 1 yr exp in summarizing or organizing data in a reporting format using Microsoft Office products.  Telecommuting Optional - May work from any location in Ohio subject to company hybrid work policy.
