Access Coordinator Employee Type: AP-Administrative Professional Position Number: 127864 Work Location: Spokane Summary of Duties: The Access Coordinator leads, supervises, and ensures the program administration of Disability Services. This position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of disability accommodations and learning assistance services for students with disabilities on the Spokane campus and in the nursing and pharmacy programs in Yakima in accordance with ADA , Section 504 and state law. Responsible for providing leadership and direction; planning, developing, managing and administering programs, strategies. accountable for the allocation of resources and program results. Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals and objectives. This includes serving as a liaison among all University Health Science Colleges, analyzing and interpreting diagnostic assessments, conducting interviews with students to identify appropriate accommodations and services, assigning appropriate accommodations for eligible students, including in didactic, lab and clinical environments. The position directs the work of a team of technical services specialists, including testing services and alternate-print technology, and supervises part-time note-takers and part-time testing proctor. This position works with disability resources personnel university-wide on policy development, implementation, and interpretation and consults as necessary on individual student accommodations. The position works closely with faculty, staff and other Student Affairs staff to ensure appropriate accommodations are provided. The Access Coordinator also serves as a campus resource for staff, students, faculty, prospective students and parents on the process for applying for and receiving disability services. Required Qualifications: Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
