Robert Half International Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director in PORTLAND, Oregon

Description

The Payroll Manager is responsible for processing US and international payroll. This individual will also work in partnership with Human Resources and Finance to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting. You are analytical with experience in payroll administration with a well rounded knowledge of US and international payroll regulations and taxes. The ideal candidate wants to own payroll, has high attention to detail, is naturally curious and loves finding new efficiencies in processes and programs.

Functions

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for US exempt, non-exempt and temporary employees.

  • Work with local service providers to process monthly payroll for international employees

  • Collect, analyze, prepare and input payroll data

  • Update employee records

  • Perform payroll accounting functions

  • Reconcile, audit and prepare reports.

  • Perform year-end and new year Payroll/HRIS set up

  • Manage compliance with state and local reporting and filing requirements.

  • Assist with HR and Accounting system implementations.

  • Enhance current payroll system configuration.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience

  • Must have payroll processing experience

  • Solid understanding of state wage and hour laws as applicable to payroll

  • General understanding and experience with international pay laws

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Self-starter and team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to work independently and display initiative
