US Foods Accounts Payable Clerk - Int in Plymouth, Minnesota
Responsible for backup of A/P input payment of stock, ship direct and miscellane¬ous approved payables. All essential responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
US Foods Culinary Equipment & Supplies, a Specialty Operations division of US Foods currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in Plymouth, Minnesota.
Back up to A/P stock purchase associate and A/P S/D purchase clerk.
Pursue problem vendor invoices by using mail, fax and telephone contact and check payments thru computer or other records analysis.
Respond promptly to all correspondence whether internal or external. Maintain orderly, up‑to‑date records and files.
Perform data input for stock and miscellaneous payables; also includes processing weekly check cash disbursements.
Prepare and deliver brief, oral and written reports concerning vendor invoice processing problems.
Observe all company and departmental policies and procedures; maintain and project a professional approach and attitude.
Maintain the confidentiality of all payable information.
Calculate discount, terms and amount of all stock payables.
Provide verification of general ledger coding for all invoices.
Interface with corporate purchasing/inventory control. Includes follow‑up on invoice/purchase order variances, sales tax and freight problems.
Communicate with data processing as necessary to resolve accounts payable issues.
Participate in and satisfactorily complete all required training and development programs for the assigned position.
Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks within the scope of essential duties and responsibilities as requested by management representatives from time to time.

Education/Training : High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Related Experience : The position requires two years of accounts payable experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : Good CRT/data input, good verbal/phone skills ‑ a sound understanding and appreciation of basic business communications (able to project a knowledgeable, professional image over the phone), organization skills, detail-minded and self-assured. The position also requires the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office software applications to include Word Excel, Mail, Outlook and the ability to use Internet/Intranet applications.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual will need to speak, hear, see, sit, or stand as needed. The incumbent will be required to perform computer keyboarding activities. The position will require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. The position will also require reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting items as required for products, filing documents or storing materials throughout the work day. The position requirements may also include lifting items that weigh up to 50 pounds for products, files and computer printouts on occasion.
